Immigration, Federal Criminal Defense

Daniel J. Conidi is the founding Director of the Mid-Atlantic Law Project and the founding and managing partner of Alliant Law Group, LLC, in Chicago, Illinois. He concentrates his practice in immigration law and federal criminal defense, representing clients before U.S. immigration courts, the Department of Homeland Security, and numerous federal circuit and district courts throughout the country.

Mr. Conidi brings fourteen years of private practice experience to complex marriage-based immigration, federal criminal defense, and matters involving the immigration consequences of criminal conduct. He offers a unique “insider” perspective to his clients, having previously served for twenty-six years as a Senior Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He is admitted to the DC Bar, the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the U.S. Tax Court.

In addition to his immigration practice, Mr. Conidi handles federal criminal defense matters including human smuggling, human trafficking, re-entry after deportation, federal weapons trafficking, federal drug trafficking, mail and wire fraud, racketeering (RICO Act), white collar crime, internet sex crimes and child pornography, federal appeals, and post-conviction relief.

The Mid-Atlantic Law Project, established in 2025 under Mr. Conidi’s direction, is an independent, non-partisan institution dedicated to open-access legal education, evidence-based research, and public advocacy. The Project provides practitioner-grade legal resources—free, in English and Spanish—to individuals and families navigating complex federal systems.
